Sony announces a slew of new cameras, lenses and accessories
Sony today announced a slew of new digital imaging products (from top to bottom, left to right):
1. 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM II telephoto zoom lens
2. RM-VPR1 wired remote
3. DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 SAM II zoom lens
4. Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm F1.4 ZA SSM lens
5. HVL-F20M flash
6. Alpha 58 DSLR
7. NEX-3N mirrorless interchangeable lens camera
8. Cyber-shot WX-300 compact camera
9. Cyber-shot HX-300 compact camera
10. Cyber-shot TX-30 compact camera
The Cyber-shot HX300 and TX30, as well as the NEX-3N will be available in Asia Pacific in March 2013, while the others will arrive in April. Prices TBA.
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens with included AF-S TELECONVERTER TC800-1.25E ED
If you’re into super-super zoom with your DSLR, look out for the new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens with included AF-S TELECONVERTER TC800-1.25E ED
The lens is compatible with the Nikon FX format. Focal length can be increased to 1000mm when the supplied teleconverter is used.
The lens has a maximum aperture of f/5.6, while the Vibration Reduction (VR) mechanism increases shutter speed by 4 steps.
Retail prices for Olympus PEN Lite E-PL5
Olympus has released the Recommended Retail Prices for the new Olympus PEN Lite E-PL5 for Singapore. Two options are available – a Single Lens Kit (S$1,098) and a Double Zoom Kit (S$1,348).
New Olympus PEN E-PL5, STYLUS XZ-2 cameras and lenses for Photokina 2012
Today’s the start of the six-day Photokina 2012 in Cologne that ends on Sunday. Olympus has unveiled two new cameras and three new lenses for the biennial photograhy and imaging trade show.
At the same time, it is consolidating all its compact cameras under the new STYLUS branding.

New Android app: CanonSGLens
The Android version of the free CanonSGLens app is now available on Google Play. Compatible with smartphones and tablets running Android 2.1 and up.
The Android app features detailed lens specifications of all 66 Canon EF and EF-S lenses sold in Singapore with a unique interactive simulator that allows users to compare the field of view of two camera-lens combinations.
Nikon launches 6 new cameras in Singapore
Nikon has launched in Singapore yesterday 6 new cameras to spearhead its Autumn 2012 collection. Amongst these is a super compact camera smaller than a credit card, and another that runs Android 2.3 with Wi-Fi connectivity.
Also part of the lineup is the Nikon 1 J2, the upgraded version of the mirrorless interchangeable lens Nikon 1 J1, with more Creative Modes. Also introduced was a new 1 NIKKOR 11-27.5mm f/3.5/5.6 lens, and an Underwater Case for the Nikon 1 J2.
All the cameras will be available in September. Prices TBA.
Nikon to release 800mm super-telephoto lens
Nikon has announced that it will be introducing a new fixed focal length, super-telephoto 800mm NIKKOR lens. The lens will have a maximum aperture of f/5.6 and be compatible with Nikon FX-format cameras.
This lens will be on display at Photokina 2012 one of the world’s largest photo and imaging exhibitions, to be held in Cologne, Germany from September 18–23, 2012.
